Good Sam Kids Club Children in grades K through 5 who need extra help with reading and homework receive two to three hours of tutoring and enrichment each week. The after-school program is offered Monday through Thursday with a staff member overseeing volunteers who work one-on-one with the children. Computer educational programs and artwork projects are encouraged. The Kids Club meets in the basement of the GSC building. Volunteers are needed now for this program. There are children on a waiting list and will be invited to attend when additional volunteers are available. Please call Opal Fields, director, at 630-2718 to join her staff of volunteers. Adult Education and Literacy The Good Samaritan Center is now offering GED classes through the North Kansas City School District. The classes are held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the GSC building. Enter via the ramp at the back of the building. There is no charge, and no appointment is necessary; anyone interested in participating may just show up.
